Welcome to Camp R.E.A.C.H.!
Camp R.E.A.C.H. is a summer camp for children and young adults with special needs who have severe language challenges. Augmentative communication is addressed for each individual camper. We will be offering 6 summer camps over three weeks this summer.
Thanks for your patience: Registration is now open online!
The camps are split by age group and ability to maximize the fun and learning potential of each camper. Our camp themes this year are Gizmos, Gadgets and Things that go for the week of July 9-13 and The Greatest Show- a Week of Dramatic Play for the week of July 16-20. We are back to 2 weeks this summer but hope to take an additional 5 kids per session and adapt to the sensory needs of our campers with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD). All camp sessions will be held at Summerfield First Baptist Church.
Camp R.E.A.C.H. also strives to provide activities year-round for our campers and their families to access our community as much as they can with their augmentative communication devices and techniques. Summerfield First Baptist Church will be hosting us for a pre-camp Cookout on June 2 starting at 11:30. Look for info about our annual Holiday Party in December. In addition we are planning several ongoing social opportunities for campers throughout the year, so stay tuned!
This year we will participate in one major fundraiser that benefits Camp R.E.A.C.H. We ask our campers, peer helpers, staff, board of directors, and community volunteers to help us raise funds throughout the year to keep our camp afloat.
